I was walking through the middle of the refinery today and took a look at our new Sulfur analyzer and noticed it had an MMI (man machine interface or touch screen LCD) on the front of the explosion proof enclosure.
Tapping the screen I managed to find out it is running Windows XP on a 733MHz Via ITX board networked to a much more powerful computer inside!!!
Kinda cool to see this kind of thing in an Industrial environment.
I then proceeded to finish a game of solitaire and then went to lunch!!!
Might have to order a few "spare" parts just in case it breaks.  |
