As in, i have a PCi wireless adaptor but only a PCie slot(grfx) slot available. Can slots be used like this if they are right length?? Can things just be interchanged??

Uh...you cant use a PCI card on a PCIe slot, vice versa.

Are PCI-E slots such as x1,x4,x8,x16 all interchangable with cards. Thats what ive realised i mean by my origional question. I knw that the 32bit PCi slots can only be used for PCI slots.

If you mean - can a PCIe x1 card be plugged in to a PCIe x16 slot for example - the answer is yes. The slot just has to be equal to or greater than the card size.

I use a PCI Express x1 sound card in a PCI Express x16 slot, but a x4 slot would work fine, too.
