hope work doesnt have a firewall
but i do like Windows Remote Desktop (just not sure on its SECURITY lol...)

well i put myself outside of the firewall so i could access my comp, in 3 minutes i received 4 viruses Mad So the idea of remote access is now a scrub.

You don't want to be outside the firewall!( AS you found out) this needs to be setup as a secure VPN.
I've heard pretty good things about [url]http://www.realvnc.com/), but have never used it.
Leaving ANY open connection, on any computer has it's risks, but a hard firewall that does SPI, and VPN passthrough would probably work on your home end, what your works IT guys will allow is another question.[/url]

or just forward the remote desktop port (3889 or 3884... gotta check) i think it is to your computer's local IP address and you should be able to communicate to your computer remotely!

i use tightvnc, you can usually use a web version (port 5800 usually) or use your client to the IP (think its 5800/5900) you can usually change the port then just forward it Wink
