My faithful Compaq V1100 21" monitor finally bit the dust just 15 minutes ago. Almost 8 years of service..

It was part of a PC package I won back in late '99. ...a complete Compaq Athlon 700 slot A w/GeForce DDR card system. The only thing I have left of that win are my JBL Pro speakers that still thump(knocks on wood).

This really sucks.. cuz I haven't seen a monitor built since that I liked as well as the V1100.

That does suck Knight. Wasn't that monitor a Trinitron?

I also agree with dimwit... errr.. dimensionjew Samsung LCD's rock, I have a 19" one and it's great.

wasn't a trinitron that I know of.. but had the best IQ that i've ever seen.. really fine dot pixel..

I did get a new samsung 22" lcd today from staples. not being home for deliveries makes ordering off the net a turd. it is the 226BW model, I think.. haven't made it home yet to try it out

Well... its not bad for LCD... still like any LCD, doesn't have the sharp IQ as a good CRT.
