Now that the election is over, that we as American's can get back to finding a middle ground that we can all get along at? Or are we going to continue to be a divided country?

I think the Democrates will fight tooth and nail for everything they can get......they have lost considerable ground (as far as loosing seats in both houses not to mention the White House AND the House Minority Leader) and will use the fillabuster option to their advantage at every opertunity.

**edit**
I also think that the general Democratic population still feel as strongly as ever that the Republican lead government is STILL on the wrong path, to the extent that they will not budge an inch and claim that the Republicans are the stubborn ones.

I tend to agree with Trek but feel how well Bush pulls off his plans will have a lot to do with it. If he does good it will go along way toward uniting the country. If he does bad watch out it will get ugly really fast.

I was reading on CNN that the German goverment is starting to soften their stance on Iraq (as well as it seems so is the whole EU), and they seem like they are starting to get more willing to help.

It seems that the EU realizes they now have to deal with Bush, and that Kerry won't come in and give away the farm. So they are now more willing to help out, and try to get back in the good graces of Bush & Iraq.

I am a strong democrat and I have no haste.. am I fearful of Bush having another 4 years ?? yes.. he has alot to prove!! Am I bitter nope.. no reason to be!! Bush is no better then any of the other ones, he lies, keeps secrets, and talk with his head up his butt all the time!!! This country will never be united until democrats and republicans can admitt their faults and utilize each other for the better of the country. Both sides have strong points and weak points on certain subjects.. here is a concept, both combine and work together and make this country the BEST it can be!!!! Let the leaders start.. the country WILL follow!!!

You know... I really wish I live in your perfect world... the one where Saddam & his sons didn't kill and torture men, women and children... they never put people into wood chippers (feet first for the ones they really didn't like), had illegal oil contracts with European countries, and the Iraqi people were suffering because of embargo's, but Saddam, his sons and all of his "people" lived in luxurey...Where the USS Cole never got bombed, where no one ever drove an explosive laden truck into the Marine barracks in Beirut, where the US embassy's in Kenya & Tanzania were never bombed, where the US World trade center was not attacked... twice. I really REALLY wish I live in your world. Are there lot's of pretty flowers there?
