NVidia Riva TNT 2 Drivers...

I have a 32MB Riva TNT 2 card in my work pc... sporting drivers by Microsoft dated 9/30/1999...

Would it make a bif difference to upgrade those? I like upgrades!!

A big difference? Probably not, but the drivers today should make your hardware work better. This is going on the asumption that drivers do get better with time...

http://www.nvidia.com for the drivers, the best part is all nVidia cards are pretty much supported by a 20MB driver pack. It's great when your older hardware is still supported by a company.

New drivers will make a huge difference. I don't really know about the newest drivers, but I remeber every few driver releases was like buying a new card when I had my TNT2...

the detonator dtivers will make for a more stable video setup

From what I've been reading about the 45.23 detonators you don't want any part of them. The 44.03s seem to be OK, though. I have a Radeon, so I don't worry too much about the Detonator drivers. Grin

To make your life easier, the Nvidia drivers are 'unified'. This does mean a sizeable download, but at the same time it means that regardless of what card you use, from the TNT range to the GeForceFX range, there is one download that will do the lot!

Go to www.nvidia.com to get the latest drivers. They may be 'unsigned', though (they often are, thanks mainly to rush releases to improve performance of the latest cards).

Another download you ought to seek out is an app called 'RivaTuner' which will easily overclock most of the TNT/GF range. It does a great job, and provided you've got decent case cooling, will get you that extra few FPS in Q3A.

I rate the TNT2 as being one of Nvidia's best cards ever! I still use one in an older PC of mine, believe it or not. Soon to be switched for a GF2MX when my Radion 9600 arrives tomorrow.
