I never tried this before, so I was surprised when it was ok... I was driving along in my Cherokee Sport today, and my thumb got caught on the keys and I pulled them straight out of the ignition... Car didn't care at all, and just kept going... So, then I kept doing it... driving with the keys in my pocket, etc (so I won't leave them in the car, ). Of course, I have to put them back in to turn the car off, though...
Do all cars do this? And should it? |

LOL Yea... I've seen it before too... same thing... The ignition key switch is gett'n loose . Probably won't cause a problem.... but you might look into getting it replaced just in case.... I wouldn't think there would be a hurry though. |

No hurry to replace that at all, my dad had a car that did that for all 7 years he had it, and he loved the fact that it was like that and never changes it. Actually I wish my car would do that!!!! _________________ I am the Spam Queen...

Seen it done, but not on a Jeep... |
Just did... well, not with a screwdriver, but with a house key... Won't start this way, but will shut off!!
So... I just need my key to start the car, and then can put them in my pocket for safe measure. And, it doesn't even take much to shut it off... I just did it with a nickel!
