Well... I'm off to Seattle today I have to go back there for some corporate training and a "welcome to the company".

Never been there before.... so it might be fun. Just wish I could take the wife... would be a lot more fun Grin

Seattle is a blast, probably my most favorite city!!!

Make sure you do the Pike's Place Market...Thats where they toss the giant fish around, like in an old Levi's commercial of few years back.

http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/

Oh, and the Rainier Brewery is downtown if you want a tour... RAINDAWGS!!!!!!!!!!

(nasty cheap beer, but it screams Pacific Northwest, and I was raised on teh Raindawg pounders).

Well, I guess it isn't that nasty Check this out!!!

That would be the world famous Edgewater Inn ("where you can fish from your room")]http://www.edgewaterhotel.com/
in the market you'll find
http://merchantduvin.com/pages/3_pike_brewing/
further south is (you can take a free bue or the trollry across the street) down to just west of http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/seabpk.htm
where you'll find

http://www.pyramidbrew.com/alehouses/seattle.php
(avoid this area on game days)
both have good beer and decent pub food

Seattles best eats is seafood (avoid most of the waterfront tourist traps, ask the concierge) Asian, and seafood (the italian won't kill you, but the mexican might Laughing )
Wild ginger (asian)
the Metropolitain(beef)
are both nice and good ($$$$$)

What room are you in? (I'll set a wake up call,....say 3 am?)

Talked to my Dad last night and he mentioned the Big "R" is now a big "T".

That "R" was an Icon im sad to see it go.

I wondered why the Raindogs tasted like crap for the last 5 or so years.

I used to commute past the big red R every morning (the top floor, which was the brewhouse, is right next to the freeway) nothing like the smell of boiling malt to get your brain working at 5 am and fridays they were always using lots of hops Smile
For the last 7-8 years or so it was brewed at the olympia brewery in tumwater which is now closed, and Rainer is made in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Oh well, another 100+ plus years of history down the drain
