everything happened so fast. I spoke to him last night and everything seemed fine. I got a call at 830 this morning i was thinking it was him waking me up to get ready for xmas with the grandparents. I ignored it the first time then i got another call then answered it to find he was in the hospital

he was taking a shower and his gf heard him fall in the shower. She said it looked like the left side of his face was limp and not responding. He was able to answer simple questions while waiting for the ambulance, but by the time he got to the hospital he was vometing and couldnt respond to anything.

I got to the hospital after showering a little after 9 ...i hadnt heard anything just that he fell so i was thinking it was nothing. I get to the hospital finally and about 10 minutes after i got there, the doctor said it was a very serious matter. I had no idea how severe it was and he initially made it sound like he might have slurred speach or have effects similar to a stroke. After a little over an hour in the ER they moved him to intensive care.

A very good family friend and church member is the head of the nuerology center there and he immediately took over seeing my father. An hour to 3 hours went by (very fast btw) and he came in after consulting with other doctors and sat the entire family down and basically said that my father as we know him is no more.

The hemerage was so severe that the pressure from it was forcing his brain down his neck basically. We were given two options. The first was that if he stays alive that he will never walk, talk, or be able to think independantly ever again unless there was a miracle. The other option was to remove the breathing apparatus and basically let what the lord wanted to happen. I don't need to say what option we took.

It took about 5 hours from when he entered to when he passed away. I was by his side when it happened. Towards the end he wasn't really breathing and his heart rate was so minimal i barely registered.

He passed quietly with family by his side. He was extremely active in the community and donated to several charities. He was a big member of the community and knew everyone.

He was 57. He leaves a brother, mom and dad, several cousins, 2 sons and many others...

This will be the toughest thing in my life. I have to coordinate the funeral, figure out what to do with his business that he has had for 20 years where i work at. What to do with his 2 houses, office building and many many many other things. Please pray for our family and never take for granted what you have.

He has never had any medical issues, no one in his family ever has either so its beyond a shock to say the least.

You did the right thing by letting him pass with his dignity. Its a tough choice to make for sure, but if the signs says there wont be improvement, his dignity becomes #1(had to do the same with Teeny).

Sorry friend.
