Anyone have suggestions? I'm looking at the ELPH line from Canon and the Sony T series. I want to spend something like $250.00 or so.

She wants a camera that she can throw in her purse and always have with her.

Her comment was "I want a nice camera not much bigger than my RAZR".

From my older nikon coolpix to a friends recent purchase of one, I'd high advise against them.

My mom has had a Sony T series for quite a while now and she loves it. It takes high quality picutes has plenty of features and she has NEVER run into any issues with it.

She is currently using my old Canon A40 and I have a Sony T7.

I dig the T7 except for the memory stick and the fact that you have to pull the battery to charge it. Otherwise it takes great pictures and is way too easy to use.

I think I am going to go play with the ELPH and see how it feels.

I was going to throw the Nikon in the comparison too but I don't think I will now.

It sure is amazing how advanced these things have gotten and how high the MP count is getting for the price. I haven't shopped for a camera is a long time.

I have a Nikon Coolpix that I still use. It's a great camera.

When we replace our current digital camera, I'm going to be looking only at Nikon and Cannon. Of course we're gonna look at DSLR.

Spire, I'd say go with the Canon ELPH, its what I'm using now. I think we have the 6MP vers. here. Its very small and it should be just at your budget.

Thanks guys...

I cut out of work for a few minutes this morning and went and checked them all out at Frys.

Ended up ordering a Canon ELPH SD600 for $217.00 shipped from Amazon. I think she will dig it.
