Not for several years now but in the past I've rescued SCSI hdd's by freezing them. Generally speaking an always on hdd over time supposedly slightly warps the platter(s). A sudden power change would leave the disks in an un-bootable state but a couple hours frozen would often correct the problem, although I always recommended replacement after the data was saved. |
