Yeah it's been a while since 3.5.7 was released, and even then the jumps between 3.5 versions haven't really been much.
KDE 4 does look very promising though. More eyecandy using fewer resources ...I try not to get too excited about it though. Sure there's a roadmap now, but it was supposed to be out this time of year LAST year.
