Oh ha ha. Some people live in the boonies and can't get anything faster...
First, 90% or more of new mobos support speeds past 115K. My mobo is most likely one of the ones that can support 921600. Second, add-in "high speed" serial cards run at those higher speeds (up to 921600), but they need to replace the windows driver to do so.
So, what I need is to replace the driver with one that will let me run my mobo port higher than 115K. With compression, it will easily exceed the 115K port speed. It's a bottleneck that needs to be removed.
