I know many of us here use RAID and I was wondering why? We all know if setup correctly you will get some speed benefits, but then your risk of data loss also increases. You win some and you lose some I guess.
I like the idea of the added performance but the reason I really like RAID -- it free's up my IDE ports on the motherboard. It also makes 2 seperate 80GB partitions show up as a solid 160GB, which I love.
I just bought a $87 Hightpoint RocketRAID 454 (PCI -> ATA133) and I guess this is just my way of validating the purchase. Every harddisk deserves its own channel, that's how I see it.
