Ok, this is a total n00b question, but how to I overclock my new card? I've seen screenshots of sliders for speed before, but I can't find that in the driver setting menus.

Not al drivers make it available. If you use eVGA's modified drivers instead of nVidia's, it might be a reason. You can just use the real ones if you don't. Then, if the sliders still aren't there, you can get RivaTuner right here : http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

In the display control panel, you go on the tab to set the resolution, there's an a button for advanced, the nVidia tab should be the latest. Then, there's a list box appearing on the left, there's one of them that has something to do with overclocking.

If it's not there, you need to get Coolbits that enables the overclocking features in the Nvidia drivers.

nVidia hides the overclocking features by default...

FYI - If you have SLI DO NOT use Coolbits.....

Ok, I used Coolbits and the option is now turned on.

Thanks.

Now, is there an easier way to monitor the temp than going all the way into the driver settings?

Use a third-party program for monitoring the temps. I got all my temps right on my desktop, even HDD temps Smile . I don't know of any Windows apps off hand, however.

Also, heed warning that the CoolBits feature not only just overclocks your video card, but to do so, it modifies the card'ss BIOS. If these get screwed up, you're SOL if you try to get support for it or try to RMA it.
