This may be a really stupid question....but why do they have pastic covers on their heads?

Are these better than Grado Headphones outta Brooklyn?

that plastic cover must be the cool 3d thing the guy made a reference to.... lol weird that they sent their pics.... mmmm oh wel... cool though.
