Haven't played games much in the last few years but I just bought a 58" Samsung flat screen and downloaded Bioshock and the wife really enjoyed watching it and I enjoyed playing it.

What other games (new or old, doesn't really matter) can you recommend?

She likes games like Half life, Doom 3, Far Cry, Left4Dead etc...

I have an HTPC with an 8800GT video card if that matters...

Call of Duty series is great, and try checking out DDO (http://www.ddo.com) since they have a Free To Play model you can see if you like it with out spending a dime.

I'll echo MW2 and Fallout3. Will toss in Mass Effect just because I loved it!

If you like RPG, Dragon Age - Origins is quickly becoming one of my favorite games to play right now.

Or if you like driving games, Need For Speed - Shift is great.

I will check out a few of these.

She is really interested in watching the single player parts of the games I listed because they flow like a movie.

When I go into multiplayer modes, she loses all interest.

If she likes the good story line and likes RPG then roll with Mass Effect for sure. Also heard that Dragon Age has a lot of the movie to it as well.

Yes, Dragon Age has a ton of movies in it. THey're pretty impressive, they're done the way the ones in Mass Effect are done, so you watch/listen the movie and then you get to make a response to it.
