The XDM's have adjustable backstraps, and include I believe 3 with purchase.
The XDM's are an improved version of the XD's. I was so-so impressed with the XD's, but I'm very impressed with the XDM's.

knight0334......Thanks for the come back. I'd be happy with the 12+1 config.
BeerCheeze.....Might give it a look, the only Springfields I ever owned were long guns (miss my M1A Nat'l Match big time! ). _________________ As of 02/01/11

Definitely check out the XD/XDM's. You might want to check out the Taurus 24/7 series too. Dont sell yourself completely without checking out all the options.
While I do believe the Walther P99 is a superior gun, its price is up a bit to match. And, components like magazines and spare parts are much harder to find and more expensive. |

Interesting you mentioned Taurus........my wife has a 9mil Millennium Pro and loves it. Back in the day I sold firearms Taurus had "turned the corner" and had no trouble suggesting them as a "inexpensive" option. I'll have a look at the 24/7 especially if it has the back strap option! _________________ As of 02/01/11

Being a "prancing horse" fan think the S&W part is out of the question! _________________ As of 02/01/11

WOW a wheel gun lover, now that is "old school"!! Yes I very much miss my Python and Diamondback. At least I still have my Detective Special, when I can get it away from the wife! _________________ As of 02/01/11

Yeah my snake was a eight that changed to a 4 for carry and then reworked for PPC service revolver. Also to help make bills after my father's death I sold a 3rd gen New Frontier in 44 special that he left me. _________________ As of 02/01/11
