That's strange. Have you tried googling for a solution and/or to try and see if more having are having the same sound problem?

Looks like SW is still an issue even with a fresh install and upgrade to SP3.0. It even seems like I am booting slower now after the latest SW, not sure why since it isn't running on boot and RAM usage really didn't change but who knows. |

I've heard SW has some issues running on Vista, but nothing I remember is related to cracking/pop sound problems... _________________ Intel Quad-Core Q6600 G0 @3.4GHz (8x425)

That's strange. It's been like 4 days since I installed SP2 and so far I didn't have even a single boot up and or lock up problems and I really hope it'll remain liek that... _________________ Intel Quad-Core Q6600 G0 @3.4GHz (8x425)

				Well I found a way to remove SP2: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948537

The speaker crackle and pop is greatly reduced but not gone. SW still seems to be an issue but I will talk to the support people tomorrow. But one new thing happened since I removed SP2....one of the gadgets I had installed in the sidebar no longer loads...if I add it two appear. Very strange. Part of me is thinking about reinstalling the OS and starting all over again because these little quirks will drive me nuts. |
