So i installed Prime95 as my pc has been restarting more or less once a day for a while now with no reason at all.
I ran the test thing on Prime and the Worker#2 said hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
Anyone know how to get into that file??
Also i had task manager cpu usage up and after it said that the second core (dual core cpu) fell from full usage to just idling.

The stress.txt file comes with Prime95. Basically has general Q&A if u encounter failures running it. The second core idling seems a little weird too. Both of mine start crunching numbers full blast when the stress test is running

Oooo it started......then 2 minutes later the worker log thing, which i assume is connected to the cores, reported a hardware failure and then the core started to idle. Can one of two cores break in a processor??

You could have a faulty core in your processor that only really shows itself under certain operations or stresses. What type of processor is it? What are temps like when running Prime?

Running a Pentium D 945 (3.4ghz) according to CPUZ and ill have to check the temps later but they dont seem too high as my fans stay reasonably quiet when its running.
