As seen here:
Legit Reviews reports XFX is going to launch its first power supply at Computex next month. It will be a 850W unit with a modular cables, flashy design and 80 Plus Silver certification.

XFX, one of the world's largest video card manufacturers, is getting ready to announce their very first power supply line at Computex Taipei 2009 next month. Details have emerged on the XFX 850W Black Edition power supply, which features one single +12V rail with a massive 70Amp/840W rating. The power supply is modular as you can see in the image below and is 80 plus silver certified, since it is 88% efficient. No word on pricing yet, but it looks like the power supply market just got a little more crowded.

This is exactly what I imagined when I read the title. I believe they made the right move on energy rating, modular, and 850 Watts. This looks awesome as a standalone unit, but it might not "flow" great with some cases (but that is always the problem when you make something stand-out). Only issue I can see people having is with the single rail, but given the right price, anyone would be thrilled with this black edition PSU.

WOW!!! That's what I call a (VERY) nice looking PSU. Grin

I like the colors of the PSU. Smile

I personally like XFX products, mainly their Video Cards, even though their motherboards are considered pretty good as well.

I'm sure that with they experience and reputation they'll come up with a GREAT PSU.

I wonder what will be the price tag for it??? Rolling Eyes

Oh...and anyone know who will be manufacturing the PSU for XFX? Or will XFX do the manufacturing as well? (I don't thing so...)

I'll definitely consider this one on my next PSU upgrade, and I think it's going to be soon enough as I currently own 'only' a Mushkin 650W PSU.

That price could be low, actually! The innovative appearance added to 88% efficiency at the power level and modular cables... I would guess over $200 easily! Look at the prices on these 80% Silver units at Newegg in the 800 to 900W range... LINK

Well if its over $200, I sure hope they come out with a lower-priced model even if its only 400W...
