I hold allegiance to no one and purchase whatever suits my needs at the best price. Currently it's Nvidia GPU's simply because they run folding@home crazy fast and were priced right. Over the years I've probably owned an equal mix of both ATI and Nvidia, Intel and AMD.

The 48x0 ATI's are very tempting, but I probably won't be upgrading the GTX260 for at least another 6 months. I've got an 8800GT, two 9600GSO and a 3870x2 for folding@home, but usually only run the GTX260 and 8800GT. I fire the others up when we are making a push on the folding charts.

I have had a mix of both over the years. but ATM I think ATI is winning in my book. price to performance ratio is way off ATM when it comes to nvidia, imo

I feel that the Nvida drivers do a much better job in games than ATI does. ATI will always have better 2d though, but who needs 2d? oh wait, we use that with standard windows huh?

what games do you play ? when I installed L4D I decided to upgrade to the geforce 180 drivers and experienced crazy stuttering until I rolled back to the 178s. The newest ATi drivers ran L4D fine with no tweaks on my brothers system, along with TF2, Portal, etc.

I'm more like nVidia fan, but honestly, it really depends on which Video Card will give me the best performance and best bang-for-the-buck! Wink

Anyway, voted to nVidia! Grin
