ATI launched their 4770 and so for it looks to be a very good video card for about $100. Looks like it might outperform the 9800GT. Gonna keep my eye on this as my 8800GT is in need of retirement (by retirement I mean my brother gets to use now) Laughing

Yes, a nice card with good performance for the price. It's a little slower than the HD4850 but runs a lot cooler and has better potential at overclocking.

I think its kind of disappointing for ATi's first 45nm card being that the memory bus is only 128MB. I would take the 4830 over a 4770 if I were looking for a $100 graphics card.

Yeah, it looks like its the 9800GT's main competition. It slightly touches the GTS 250 actually.

This 40nm-chip video card consumes less than 75W at full load, only 8.5", and replaces the 4830 in performance.

Yes, its only 128-bit but its GDDR5. I bet this 128-bit card can even beat some 512-bit old gen ATI cards! Smile

ATI 4770 is definitely a nice card with a good price range.

I'm not convinced a single 4770 will outperform a single 9800GT, but it really come close to it.

But, I've heard that two 4770 cards in CrossFireX setup outperform a single HD4890 by something like 20 percent!!! And...it this setup also stands in comparison with a single GTX285.

So, with that said, a CrossFired 4770s can be a good cheap alternative for a single GTX285 and with less power consumption as well... Wink

too bad it`s not on 256 bit at least, however using GDDR5 memory is a compensation kinda.

Oh, I'm sure sometime later AMD will release a 256-bit 40nm GPU. The 4770 is just the first 40nm GPU to come out...
