I prefer ATI because they seem to have a video card for every price range, whereas there's a jump from the GTS250 and the GTX260. In terms of bang for the buck ATI seems to have the upper hand too.
I have always bought nVidia when it came time to upgrade my video cards, but I think after what happened with the 8xxx to 9xxx series, price gauging, etc, I am going to support ATi... especially now that XFX is a board partner. I bought a Sapphire HD 4830 for my brother, I was tempted to give him my 8800GT =P _________________ ■ Silverstone SG02-F ■ AMD X2 7750 @ 3.2GHz ■ Biostar TA790GX XE µATX ■ Coolermaster GeminII S ■ 2x 2GB G.Skill DDR2 1066 ■ Galaxy 8800GT 512MB ■ Corsair HX520 ■ 2x 250GB Western Digital SE16 ■

I think ATI is a little better value these days with the 48xx series cards. If you are getting a GPU for folding then Nvidia is definately the way to go. I got mine for gaming so I went ATI (4870).

I'm an ATi & AMD guy, and have been for years. In the last 10 yrs, I've bought like 1 Intel CPU, maybe 3 Nvidia GPU's, and like 20 AMD CPU's and 10 or so AMD GPU's.

Whatever offer the best bang for the buck when I'm in the market for a new video card. Current card is ATi but the last 2 before this one were Nvidia and then ATi before them................ _________________ "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."........Albert Einstein
