I'm curious about Norton Ghost. Does anyone have any experience with it?
I currently use RIS to deploy an image to multiple machines at one time. However it gets troublesome with drivers ect, and it's getting annoying everytime we get a new machine.
I was thinking of trying out Ghost to do the same thing. I've seen it done before. 1 image that is loaded with software and tons of drivers that are supposed to work on a bunch of platforms.
Would it be worth attempting to purchase this software? I load about 100 computers a month roughly, and looking for the eastiest way to manage patches/updates/software/ect on multiplate platforms short of a hard drive duplicator.

in my experience, Ghost has issues with some SATA controllers.

We've been playing with this:

Runtime's DriveImage XML has been my favorite over the last few years.

Good topic. I am looking for a similar program too. I have to load up my Vista eveytime I format. And I have to do it for my friend's PC too. Anyone has any similar experiences, and guidance? I would love some feedback.

I don't like Ghost all that much really, I've been using Acronis here lately and its much easier and seems to work better than Ghost.

I believe the correct name for it right now is Symantec Ghost... It was Norton Ghost once upon a time... However for drive imaging I must say Acronis does a great job and has a built in network server client, so it can grab stuff from any machine regardless if it has the server front end software on it. Luckily here you don't need a machine with a front end, but just a machine hosting the image with a shared drive. =)
