pffftt... anything built today is a waste of money and a piece of crap.

I'd sooner have any pre-1975 US make truck without a computer than some piece of crap that goes from 8 mpg to 3 mpg because a frigging sensor decided to die, or any other overpriced polished turd built today.

im never buying an american vehicle again. When you compare costs vs some of the euro cars or even japanese cars it doesnt seem as appealing. They wouldnt be in such hurt if they would stop making crap vehicles like the hhr and ssr or whatever its called. Stupid milk truck ffrom 50 years ago and that half truck/ car thing.... They are incredibly ugly and they cost far too much for what they are. Aside from the vettes and supercharged cars theres nothing that american vehicles have going for them. They all handle poorly including the new z06 vette... Its sad imo

Okay I gotta ask what are you driving fox?
The z06 is poor handeling? Just about very article I have read priase the z06 for its handeling. Now if you were talking about an older Mustang I'd agree with you.

I didn't like it ...compare it to the porsches or ferraris and its poor. I would take a lotus that costs roughly $20k less and will do the quarter mile in .04 of a second difference with half the hp and will eat the z06 alive in cornering. Looks cooler as well.

z06 ~ $77k 12.04ish
exige s ~$57 12.08ish

we're all entitled to our opinions, I've driven a lot of cars and did not like it... Having driven porsches and other high end cars it doesn't compare on any level. America builds cheap cars, I especially hate my dads escalade, that stupid thing is falling apart. Was cool at first for the old guy bling thing but the stupid issues coming up with that are stupid....

I do love however the vette r1, thats a good car, never driven it but has better hp and suspension, the cts-v is okay as well but havent driven that one yet either but a buddy has one so i gotta bug him to drive it.

I drive an audi tt... Its okay, sorta, I wanted one when they first came out and being a kid yet i bought one. Something about the looks and everything was really appealing to me. This summer however, im looking at 911's, I just gotta convince myself that after buying a house, motorcycle and other stupid things that I can afford to go into 40k of debt for a used one.

On the news this morning they had something about the big 3 CEOs.

They were asked if they arrived on their private jet...each on did.
They were asked if they were going to sell their private jet and use commercial jets, they said they would not.

Their reasoning was for security...PSFFFT

Don't forget their overly bloated salaries, and bonus packages...many of them their bonus package is 2 -3x their annual salary!

Anyways, if the company that provides the extended warranty goes out of business, then the extended warranty is worthless. We found this out the hardway...

Oh and lets not forget that when your on your own private jet you can continue conducting business as usual with your advisors etc. In first class you can't openly talk about your business without other people overhearing.

Toyota can afford to not lay off their workers and it would be a PR nightmare for them to start letting people go. How is this any different than the US automakers used to react when the economy was starting to sour?

Maybe some layoffs will eventually be coming to Toyota employees too. Toyota just laid off 3,000 "temporary" workers in Japan. Source: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601080&sid=ahR68Rd_ozbk&refer=asia

So they're getting paid millions a year because they can lose 2 billion a month? I'm all for paying them bonus's if they make money, but fail to see how they justify any salary at all when they run their companies into the ground. They can blame the unions all they want, but a union contract is signed by both sides of the bargaining table.

I'm of the same mindset, simply because I can't afford anything post-1975 Grin Wave

What do people think of the lowered gas prices in relativity to the auto industry? I think the lower-prices might encourage at least a little more spending towards new vehicles, not having to pay $60 to fill your average tank anymore. It'd be a shame if the big 3 did fold for michigan, our economy is already hurting a lot, maybe we should start focusing on the mediciene field a bit more heavily.
