$1.89 for Reg, and $2.56 for Diesel.

Now... if we can get Reg under $1 and Diesel under $2......

If prices had stayed above $4 gallon for too much longer we would have gotten some serious alternative energy legislation passed and they can't have that, so they started lowering prices.

Plus, with prices below $2 gallon people might start buying trucks again, which is the only hope the big 3 have to survive in the short term. How these three companies failed to see the writing on the wall 5 years ago we will never know, but whoever is in charge of determining model lineup should be fired. Could you imagine what it would do to oil prices if we pushed through a revamped CAFE standard of 30mpg? Demand would decrease further and prices could theoretically dip to $1 gallon.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone else caught it, but the US and worldwide ( world wide proven reserves have risen every year for decades, but the US proven reserves were flat for a couple years ) proven reserves actually rose last year. Despite the shortage we have all been told existed.

We're just finally dipping below $3 a gallon up here. I saw $2.95 yesterday.

thats strange your prices still being so high up there in AK with all that oil production.

Where I'm at prices are $2.15-$2.30 or so. Our oil here in PA goes more to fine oils, fine fuels and naptha.

Alaska pays on the west coast model for fuel prices, plus an additional cost for... well... being in Alaska.

I sell Toyotas. People will still buy v6 ebngines and will still buy trucks if they want them. I had someone who had a smal dodge neon and always wanted a truck, came in and traded for it.

Trucks get the utility availible, tacomas have always sold big suck as ford rangers, colorados, and other vehicles in that class but at the same time the Tundra and F150 and F250 still sell, the tundra now more then ever because of the feel of it. a v8 5.7 liter gets 14-18 epa rated, If i set it on cruise doing t60mph going on a flat road, i see 22 average maybe 24.

Hell the 3.5 liter v6 engines in the toyotas get 28mpg hwy and 19 city normally. Thats not bad at all. The only 4 cyl that gets decend mpg is the corrolla at 27-35 but people tell me they see 32-40 real world without flooring it.

The Hybrid will help to solve alot... unortunatly theres only so far it can go with bigger vehicles so they are goign to have to come up with solutions to help push the tech over the edge.

I wouldn;t be suprised to see a full sized truck thats a true hybrid in the next 5 or so years,

I just got back from a 2,000 mile round trip to Washington and only once paid more than $40 for a tank of gas. the lowest I saw was in Spokane area for $1.94 the highest was $2.15 on the top of the fourth of July pass in Idaho, but most places (including here) were at $1.99.
