Solution to No Monitor...
From Windows Desktop...
Ctrl, Esc, U, Enter OR
Ctrl, Esc, U, (down arrow), Enter
(you need the second instruction because sometimes windows defaults to "standby" and not "shutdown"....

Don't forget that CTRL+S before doing all that, assuming you're in some kind of document.
