Cool!
And every time I look lately, mrweasel and I have swapped rankings. Back and forth between #2 and #3.
(man, I had to rewrite this post a few times to avoid giving the wrong idea). |

ughhh,
We had 110mph winds day before yesterday that blew down a lot of snow laden trees and cut power and I forgot to restart my closet folders. _________________

Man... Get someone to restart them... You haven't put up any points in almost a week now! |

I'm home and I tried to restart them a couple times, but the power failure hosed the filesystem on the usb key's so I have to reload them. I've just been busy lately and haven't gotten around to it. _________________

OK, I fired up two of the four machines, hopefully they will start posting numbers in about 24-36hrs. I'm off to work in the morning, so I'll try to get all 4 up when I get back in two weeks. _________________

I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with this thing. This is the third time I've restarted my folding machines and they seem to run for about a week then crash with disk space errors on 2GB USB drives. Apparently notfred updated the core to flush the work folder so perhaps this will solve the problem. In the meantime i installed the gpu client on my vista64 system and it screams along at over 4000/ppd on my Nvidia 8800GT/512mb Not that I'm going to let it fold 24/7, but it's still quite fast. I'll probably fire it up for one or two work units a day if I happen to think about it. _________________

Mine keeps crapping out too. I don't notice for a few days sometimes.
It seems to be working right now, but check out the progress bar:

I installed the GPU version on an HD4850 X2 yesterday... I didn't think it was working right, as I kept checking it and it was always just a little further along... Like 15%, then 20%, then 28%. I'm talking about 6-7 hour intervals with minimal progress based on it saying it should be done in that time on screen...
What I didn't realize until just now is that those updates weren't sequential... It had actually rolled over four times in the span of just over a day!
HUGE POINTS! |

Jason, have a question for you...... as it seems most people are giving ATI cards a bad rep as far as GPU clients. Since it seems you're doing well with an ATI card how well do you think YsSMN's 3870 would do?
Hoping when I get my all 'puters all finished and networked will start dividing them among the sites that have helped me along the way. While I don't post much I do enjoy BB and been thinking about using Yoda's Size Matters Not unit here. _________________ As of 02/01/11
