My computer just started to reboot either during idle or while is use.

I am going to check the case and cpu fans as a first thought, since the temp has gone up in the house recently.

Last night i also checked msconfig to see if i obtained anything interesting and is looks fine.

I am also going to run a full virus scan, trojan check, etc.

If anyone has suggestions on what to check and also try to look into this issue would be helpful. Mad

Likely suspects:

1) Virus, etc (your on this)
2) Corrupted OS - Reinstall, fresh install should fix
3) Power - PSU is flaky, or MB is having issues managing power. Hard to diagnose, best suggestion is to break out the multi-meter and compare what it says vs what your motherboard says voltages are.
4) Memory issues - try using Memtest68+
5) Possibly HDD failure - Get tools from your HDD manfacture and run test.

Those are I'd say the most likely issues, which as you can see... are gonna be fun to try and find and fix.

I'm hoping that was just the setting to restart the computer after a power failure or something... Unless there are practical joke boards out there with features designed to annoy... Laughing

but that is something interesting to look into, thanks.

... that could be along the same lines as hooking your friends horn to your brake lights.

I'd pay top dollar for that board for some of my users at work Laughing
