Last summer I upgraded my mothers pc.
I purchased the following components.

OS: XP Pro SP2
Mobo: GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) Bios F13x
CPU: intel e6420 2.1gig stock HS
Mem: Corsair DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 2x1gig
Vid: XFX 8600 gt 256 meg
PSU: Mad Dog Cheapo 420 2x12v
Optical: Pioneer DVD R/W 18x
HD: WD 80 gig IDE

I only had 2 days to set it all up and it seemed stable.
She was visiting from Chicago so by the time I had all of the componants ready she had to leave in 2 days.
So to make a long story short ever since last July 07 she has been having nothing but problems with this pc. Random errors, freezing, the works. Several phone calls were made to me trying to get it resolved with no luck. I felt like dirt. So this past Xmas I decided to buy her a laptop so that she would be able to do what she needed without the crashing. I planned on fixing her "son" built pc when she visited this summer.

So recently my brother went to visit with her and brought the pc from Chicago back to Ohio with him and I now have this system to play with. I believe the issue was the volts fed to the mem and adjusted it to 2.1 from 1.8. All seems fine with this minor change. I then decided to try and push the system a little further while maintaining the mem at ddr 800 with the 4-4-4-12 timings.
I first pushed the FSB to 320-2560mhz and set the mem divider to 2.5x and ran orthos for 8 hours stable. No issues.
I then tried playing with other FSB mem combos to go further.
At 8x multi for the CPU the next jump was all the way to 400-3200mhz but my temps were running quite high which aslo crashed 5 minutes into the orthos stress test. I then realized that I still owned a thermaltake Blue Orb cooler which would fit. Then set it on the CPU raised all volts 1 increment up in the bios. I now have completed the Orthos stress test 11 hours stable @ 3.2gigs fsb 1600 and mem 1to1 at ddr2 800.

So my question is, is there anything that I have overlooked?
Is the front side bus at 1600 something to worry about? My temps never passed 51c during testing. Also are there other aps I should install to make sure it is stable?
Thanks for reading.
