Try using FahMon to view the PPD of your folder if you arent. It should give a more accurate value.

Yeah... My "quad" of two 2GHz dual core Opterons takes an average of 14-16 minutes per % complete.

That's more like it! You're completing a work unit every 21hrs. or so. It will fluctuate some depending on the actual protein being folded, but it should be good for at least 2000 points per day.

You could boost that another %25 or so by running a second smp client, but I find that on my main system It's easier to just run one. If you are using the notfred folding image you can open 2 smp instances by changing the SMPCPUS= flag from 4 to 2. It will slow your frame times to about 20minutes per, but you would be running 2 so in effect your ppd would be similar to a system that had 10minute frame times.

So, it was 176 Watts with the video card installed and 6 memory sticks (63.4 cents per day).

Take the video card (X600 128MB PCIe) out and 4 sticks of memory and it drops to 160Watts (57.6 cents per day).

5.8 cents per day or $21.17 per year. Laughing

I'm still waiting on my kill-a-watt. Newegg uncharacteristically lost the order last week and it finally shipped yesterday. They did credit me the $19 2 day shipping charge though so I'm ok with it. When I get it tomorrow I'll have some numbers for the quads and maybe even the entire system.

I was looking for tech site targets on the F@H radar screen and none appear on the immediate horizon... 3dcenter.de is about a month away, but I don't speak German. BUT... The Eggxpert team is 40+ days away from being overtaken. Ooh, lets ramp it up to catch up to Newegg's forum! Laughing

No weezy ( Grin ), we are going to pass them. Our folding output and totals will surpass theirs in about 40 days, which says a lot for us considering they are a much larger team.
