[frustrated]
soo new job with dad as a lot of you know.. Went out and bought a new acer system the other day decent specs, great for the office. Got a really nice 21.6" screen to match it.

Get back to the office get everything hooked up get it on the network make vista look all pretty and run the way I want it to. Install everything that I want to use get some music pics and other things on there. Go to install the software package that we use for the company and f-ing thing doesn't work with vista. ^&*$% All right, no big deal, call the software company to see if they have a patch after looking online. Call and the turds wont talk to me w/o a credit card. F That! the software costs like 20k punks better come out a milk me... get no where with that so i hang up

go home grab a blank hdd and spend the rest of the day installing xp pro. YAY

Its still installing sp2 I just hope that some of the drivers wont have issues not being on vista... Like the soundcard that I cant get to work.

went to acers site and they list a whopping 3 drivers on there all but one have to be on vista.

The motherboard I found out is a foxconn.... I went to their website but couldnt really find anything but where would i find the model of my motherboard? Call acer or foxconn? I need teh audio and other drivers that are busted lol....

[/frustration (hopefully)]

p.s. loving teh new job so far

I've had Vista Business since April and I'm STILL working out issues; it's on a prebuilt system so I would think there shouldn't be any problems... It's a POS OS and I don't recommend it to anyone...

Glad the new job is going well! Sounds like you have some flexibility on tech stuff, which is nice!

Open it up and look at the mode;/serial on it? Really, all you need to know is what some of the hardware is. The best way I found was to load up a Linux LiveCD since the kernels are built with most of the drivers built modularly. Then just look at `lspci` output to see what all the different hardware make/models are.

Been using Vista for a few months and no issues other than creative making a lousy driver for it. Did you know you can right click on the program's icon and choose "run as XP" and also "run as administrator"? That fixes 90% of any issues you encounter with compatibility.
