I have a notebook acer something or another, that died awhile back. I thought it was the video in it, as it just turns on. However I decided to look at it today, without a hard drive, or ram, it simply does nothing. I turn it on, I heard the cd-rom make a noise or two. But then nothing. Which makes me think the entire motherboard is toast, any other possible choices? _________________ Nothing says good job like a firm open palmed slap on the behind.

does it have an external video connection? If so, try connecting that to an external monitor and see if you get anything when you turn it on. I've seen at least two notebooks that seemed to turn on but had blank screens. Both of them had problems with the tiny switch that turns the monitor off when you close the top. _________________

I'll give that a shot once I put it all back together, but shouldn't a notebook beep error codes if there's no ram/hdd? _________________ Nothing says good job like a firm open palmed slap on the behind.
