Small brewers from Australia to Oregon face the daunting prospect of tweaking their recipes or experimenting less with new brews thanks to a worldwide shortage of one key beer ingredient and rising prices for others.

I would say Yikes but I haven't had a beer since January.

The advantage of the Keg.... Grin Cheaper beer.

Speaking of kegs, here's my latest. It's a portable system that fits in the cooler it's sitting on. 3.5Gallons and uses a portable co2 charging system too. Great for camping and just about any other occasion that you would normally bring a cooler of beer to. Grin

Higher prices just mean more left for me GrinGrinGrinGrin

I bought it at the brewery supply shop thats just down the street from me. It was a little spendy, because the keg was brand new. I got the keg, tap, portable co2 system and quick release fittings for $155.

I had to trim the inside top of the cooler to get it to fit, but it fits ok with thefittings removed. I just lift the flap and plug everything in and pour away. Grin

I eventually plan to use this keg for a second tap in my beer fridge. It should fit ok and will be perfect for those really spendy beers that I've been wanting to try, but didn't really want to buy 5gallons of.
