Major Albums Without Record Labels

Could you please explain... does it mean that the album is available for download only? Or does the band make CD promotion itself, sets up tour dates etc.?

Yeah - they will sell you a CD at a fixed price, shipped direct from them to you, but the album download is free (if you want it to be).

Probably counting on cashing in on big concert ticket sales. But, I did read somewhere that only 30% of the first week's downloads were free. The average price paid by all people who downloaded a copy was $8! Pretty good!
