I'm thinking about getting a 3ware 9650SE-4LPML Raid card for my desktop. Has anyone ever heard or worked with 3ware? I hadn't heard of them until I went looking on Pricewatch. Normally, I'd consider an Adaptec card, though their prices are very steep for this kind of card. Also, do the specs look good for a gaming-oriented machine? I intend to run Raid5, 3x250gb drives.
Just looking for some advice here... it's been 6 years since I bought a RAID card. |

3ware makes very good cards; you should do fine with that particular model _________________

Might be worth a trip to the forums at www.2cpu.com - generally a few high-end, second hand RAID cards available in their trading section. |

Thanks. I was just looking there and someone has started an interesting thread about brand names. Guess I get to relearn some stuff. |
