I hate the fact that wireless keyboards don't have LEDs....nothing worse than fraggin and accidentally hitting the CAPS LOCK and not knowing it

Agree! I am considering changing to a wired keyboard. But I really like the wireless mouse.

I still love my MX1000, the rechargable batteries last about 3 weeks with heavy use and has LEDs to let you know how much power the batteries have left.

I have the Logtech LX500 wireless mouse/keyboard. The problem is the mouse keeps burning through batteries (a pair of Duracell ultra's every 2 - 3 weeks it seems). And seems to be a bit flaky in it's communication. The keyboard works great though.

So, I'm looking for either a new wireless mouse with charger or a new keyboard/mouse set.

Suggestions? I'm going to be buying in the next week or so.

EC,
I have a 501 (same as LX500) and have 4- 1 hour charge batteries (because of the battery eater mouse)
other than that the mouse seems fine, the keyboard (which goes for most of a year on a pair of alklines) I don't really love, due to the key action (requires almost straight up-down typing, keys struck at an angle sometimes don't register)
Anyway I think this model was not logi's best effort (cheap, almost "cheesie" Wave )
I'm thinking the Logitech G7 or MX1000 would work, but some of the MS model aren't bad.
a wired version with a couple upright USB ports on the top edge would be nice for flash drive use.

I finally pulled the trigger... got the G7 and also got a G15 keyboard.

Just plugged in the mouse so far. Seems really nice.

The G15 Keyboard is NICE! Evaluated one for work and hated giving it up, just wish there was an ergonomic version of it...

I recently traded in my Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse for a Logitech G5 Mouse and Saitek Eclipse Keyboard. They seem to be working quite well. The keyboard feels very solid and the mouse is amazing. It comes with a tin of weights that you can put in it to adjust it's weight. I also like the light texturing an the sides of the mouse and the 5 different DPI settings. 1600 DPI seems to work great for me.

They aren't wireless, but they don't have batteries to change either. Smile

Yea, nice thing about the G7 is they are rechargeable and come with 2. So when one is dying you just hot swap to the charged one and put the dead one back in the charger.

I got the G-15 keyboard for christmas.... I love the thing! works great with just about ever game I own, and really nice to type on. I've been using an MX700 mouse for a couple of years now... never had a problem with it myself, except having to replace the batteries with Li-ions.
