I fired up my second pc tonight and it made the whole network really weird... all the activity lights on the switch were blinking and no other pc could get on the internet... Thought it was a virus, so I checked that, then thought windows was bad so I reinstalled... Didn't think it could be the switch since it worked fine with just the other pc connected...
Then I decided to look at the switch, and noticed an unused AC adapter plug near it and got confused... Traced the wire of the two AC adapters back to the surge protector and realized my switch was plugged into my cell phone charger... Instead of 7.5V it was only getting 3.7V...
Adding the second pc drew too much I guess... |

I blame Hercules... umm, Hercules the soundcard. While I was re-installing everything on my main pc this weekend (after making the RAID array bootable), the Hercules software said to disconnect the internet connection... So I just unplugged the switch... - Apparently didn't plug it back in right!! |

Haha that's funny. Hey it could of been worse with higher voltage instead of lower, I gave a hard drive 17 volts once. It wasn't pretty. Not to meantion it was AC. _________________

Well I had disconnected the Cat5 from the wall in my room and disabled my NIC to test some wireless deals. After I was done, I enabled the NIC and put all my network settings back, then proceeded to try to figure out why it didn't work.
I went at it for about five minutes before I remembered the Cat5...... _________________ Due to a not-that-interesting turn of events, I am now known as Justin Danger. |

I deleted the pm, and I changed your title back... the offer 'expired' in the pm, and the title was grosser than I'd like to see over here...
I'm sending you a new PM now! |
