Hi:

I'm looking for a AGP video card for my son's computer. He plays BF2, COD, CS, and Guild Wars. His rig has a 420 watt (18 amp) PSU, Athlon 64 3400+ and 1 GB Ram.

Looking at GeForce 6800 or Radeon X800. I would appreciate any comments. What is the best card for the money?

Thanks kindly!

I would probably look at something like a Radeon x1600 Pro, or a GeForce 7600GS.

Is the 7600GS worth updating too? I have heard both that the 6800 and the 7600 is about the same in performance ?

You're going to get better effects out of the 7600... I forgot what the upgrade is, but look for a chipset comparison.

Thanks all! I think I will go for the GeForce 7600 GS . I've noticed some have DDR3 ve DDR2 memory. The DDR3 are more expensive; don't know if it is worth the performance gain. My son is looking forward to retiring his Radeon 9600XT which has been plagued with over-heating issues from day one.

If the price difference isn't major, I'd go with the DDR3

Hi, I may be thinking about a upgrade as well going to try the 7600GS card and hope to get another year or two out of my agp board. just would like your all opinions on which builder would be better?

XfX
eVGA
BFG <-----Im running the 6800 Gt card as of now.

thanks

Had a eVGA card before and it was good, running a BFG now seems to do good, never had or use a XFX.
