it does fit the 7900 here the compatibility link and on it it lists the 79x meanign 7900 series. heck they did the review on a 7600.

Its listed so it should work.
I have a 7950 i ordered... so i am hoping that well it should work.... hopeing. but i waited on ordering the new tem because i just wanted to seethe temps b4 i added a heatsink
