Lost Circuits has a similar review up but they didn't seem too happy with the idea; They also have an alternative that looks interesting

That's pretty cool! I never knew it was that easy to unlock a CPU. Something for me to try in the future. I have a solder iron and solder so I'd just go ahead and do it. I'd have to find a reliable source to know what pin to connect where though. But it's nice that it can be done with a simple strip like that. _________________
