The Little Red Hen

Once upon a time, on a farm in Indiana, there was a
little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until
she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat.

She called all of her neighbors together and said, "If
we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who
will help me plant it?"

"Not I," said the cow.
"Not I," said the duck.
"Not I," said the pig.
"Not I," said the goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red
hen. And so she did; The wheat grew very tall and
ripened into golden grain.

"Who will help me reap my wheat?" asked the little red
hen.

"Not I," said the duck.
"Out of my classification," said the pig.
"I'd lose my seniority," said the cow.
"I'd lose my unemployment compensation," said the
goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red
hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread. "Who will help
me bake the bread?" asked the little red hen.

"That would be overtime for me," said the cow.
"I'd lose my welfare benefits," said the duck.
"I'm a dropout and never learned how," said the pig.
"If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,"
said the goose.

"Then I will do it by myself," said the little red
hen. She baked five loaves and held them up for all of
her neighbors to see.

They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But
the little red hen said, "No, I shall eat all five
loaves."

"Excess profits!" cried the cow.
"Capitalist leech!" screamed the duck.
"I demand equal rights!" yelled the goose.
The pig just grunted in disdain.

And they all painted "Unfair!" picket signs and
marched around and around the little red hen, shouting
obscenities.

Then a government agent came, he said to the little
red hen, "You must not be so greedy."

"But I earned the bread," said the little red hen.

"Exactly," said the agent. "That is what makes our
free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the
barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our
modern government regulations, the productive workers
must divide the fruits of their labor with those who
are lazy and idle."

And they all lived happily ever after, including the
little red hen, who smiled and clucked, "I am
grateful, for now I truly understand."

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her.
She never again baked bread because she joined the
"party" and got her bread free.

And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been
established. Individual initiative had died but nobody
noticed; perhaps no one cared, as long as there was
free bread.

===================

Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs.
Hillary got $8 million for hers.
That's $20 million for memories from two people who
for eight years repeatedly testified, under oath, that
they couldn't remember anything.

God Bless America!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. back on the welfare kick again ehh?? LOL It was a good read Trek.. but it amazes me how poeple who do NOT know how the new welfare system works go around
b!tching about it. Its no longer free handouts, people must work for their pay, and let me tell ya they might as well go get a regular job and work for $5.25 an hour because they will make more money. There is abuse of the system, but how about people who cannot help their situation that are using welfare as a stepping stone? Someone whos company went down adn is now out of a job after working hard for 20 years at the sme place, and has 4 kids and a wife to support? Shall we turn this person away and not offer him food stamps to feed his kids, and medical insurance so that they can be healthy? Yes there are people who keep having kid and kid after kid and collecting AFDC, but now they have to work for it. ANd lets face it anyone who is out in the real world knows the expenses of Health insurance here in the US, and most insurance companies suck. Get a single mother with 3 kids making 22 grand a year.. health insurance for family being an extra $400 a month out of her paycheck.. should we not help her with food or free medical insurance? Hell Bush gave MEGA $$$$$$ to a frickin country he destoyes but you guys are b!%@#ing about giving money to out own people?? Something isnt right with that picture!! *end of rant*

The example you give is a prime candidate (he's paid into the system all those years) to receive ALL the benifits this country can give. HOWEVER.......What about ALL the ILLEGAL people that are bankrupting the states civil/scoial services to the point where your example can't receive those services?????????????

If they are illegal they souldcnt be receiving sh!t to begin with, but I said there are always people who abuse the system. We need more qulified people in higher positions. I am the first to say that the welfare system needs serious reforming. I have always thought that welfare should be about helping people better themselves, but its really not. The people who are using welfare as their stepping stone ,which is what its suppose to be used for get screwed in some situations, this si why we need a qualified leader , unlike the ones we have had in the past. ANnd at this point I would hardly call Bush qualified.
