Well now that I have the GPS software instaleld on my laptop and evertyhing workign I have come to a new conclusion. That is ---- It is impossiabel to really look at the GPS trackign on the computer screen while you are actualyl driving.
So to humor myself I was goign to look into the idea of purchasign a small LCD screen that I could somehow mount to my dash and connect it to the laptop to be used as a GPS display.
So I need to knwo where I could find some small LCD displays that could be used for this arrangment and would be able to connect to my laptop. In a perfect world it would be realyl nice if I could find a LCD display that had touch or stylus input included so that I could simply click on the screen if I wanted to change the display or zoom in. Reason for that is because you can mess with the comptuer while driving but to click a screen that is right in front of you is nto all that bad.
But, they are generally expensive. You can get them cheaper, but generally that means having to provide s-video input which doesn't look as good and won't be touch screen.
I want mine in the car, but it is a big pain figuring out the best way to mount it.
I am lookiogn for somehting cheap that is jsut a basic display to use for GPS navigation or I might be willign to shell out a little more for something wit hthe touch screen capability.
but I did find a few 5 and 7 inch displays ot there for uner 100 bucks.
Yup that is where I thought to look. Started with best buy and their web page is for crap. Can't find (or let me say eaisly find) stand alone type LCD screens.
I will search the other sites and then just love over the web and on pricewatch.com
