I took all your advice, mulled it over... and went with the Barton 2800+ 
Got it from TCWO for $156 shipped free... Meh, i felt the need, the need to spend money... I mean, for speed!  |

You know... this is just how most things work for me... I find the best deal yesterday at TCWO for $156 and buy it... By far the best price for reputable stores... Today, the TCWO price is $151 and Newegg dropped theirs all the way down to $149...  |

There ought to be a shopper's version of Murphy's Law that goes:
"If you waited for the price to come down on an item before you bought it, it will go on sale within a week."
