I am lookign to see if there are any programs out there that will allow me to automatically make it so that all my IPOD songs are at the same volume level. Some of my songs play low and others loud. I do nto want to go through each one to check it and turn my volume up in I-Tunes - so is there somethign that can do this in existance??

And if you know of other cool IPOD software let me know.

MusicMatch will allow you to volume level everything in your archive, but I don't know about the whole itunes thing and ipod requirements.

Its really simple too, highlight your entire mp3 collection and then hit volume level, everything comes out leveled nicely.

On the Ipod choose the "Sound Check" Option. It keeps them all the same level (or it's supposed to).

Edit: Here's a link about it: http://macs.about.com/od/ipod/qt/ipod_sound_chk.htm

it does, but it headphone related. you can set a max volume and lock it with a passcode so the kiddies don't go deaf.

The volume adjustment for all songs has been in since the beginning

Yes the volume adjustment however does nto realyl work. See some songs may be burned at a different rate or some songs jsut start out at lower volumes. And when I have the ipod in my car I will have one song play really low and I have to turn it way up and then the next song comes on and shocks the heck out of me cause it is blasting loud.

I heard there might be a piece of software out there that can help fix this cause I knwo that the sound check option does nto really fix it. All it does is basically trurn down the volume on al songs and then the ones that started out with low volume are so low you can hardly hear them.

This is why ITUNES gived yo uthe ability to set the volume for each song in theri software. They knew this issue existed - but to go thru all the songs that I have and adjsut volume like that will be a real pain.

That's the only option, besides as you describe doing them individually, that I am aware of.

That was all I ever thought there was too but a guy I know mentioned he had hear about some software that was floatign around that would allow you to do each song but do it automatically. Not sure if that realyl exists or not but it sounds liek somethign that would be very useful and it sounds liek something somebody might develop. SO I will start lookign aroudn when I get my new laptop. If I find anyhting I will post it here.
