Aye, I like it to fill the screen, don't like "dead" space on the edges, so the oldschool theme is perfect for me.

Same here... I didn't buy a bigger monitor to not use it.

LOL I was just going to say I'm not old and blind and need the screen to be huge....so the higher resolutions work perfectly fine for me Grin

Errr... It's seems to be a "tech site" thing. CNN just made a changed, and it's not as noticeable because it's all left margined, instead of centered.

Most of the security sites I visit don't do the fixed length stuff. Of course they are more about info, then appeal.

Now that I have widescreen I notice how many are fixed. Not tech site at all... walmart.com - espn.com - weather.com - foxnews.com

To name a few on the list.

Laughing I guess I don't hit many of those sites. At least very often.

ACK! Just looked at Foxnews... HATE IT!

Sorry... fixed width sites to me seem like a step back into the late 90's when you built sites for 640x480 and they looked like crap on anyone running higher res.

Just because you have a wide monitor doesn't mean everyone has to fill it for you. Laughing

To me, sites that span to 1440 or 1600 wide wind up looking like Censored - paragraphs all fit on one line, images get lost in a sea of blank screen... Content management is just ugly.

How about this fixed width site: GUINNESS

Laughing True... but because it's a total fixed width it doesn't seem as bad.

And I will say that the new skin looks fine on my laptop with the 1024x768 settings.
