Just signed up for Optimum Online's Speed Boost. Speed will go all the way up to 30 Mbps down / 2 Mbps up!

Yikes

$9.95 more per month (after the first month free) and it includes lots of other cool stuff... Like they unblock all the ports (they currently block port 25 / 80) and actually help you set up a home mail / web server if you want. They throw you some more e-mail addresses on their domain, and they give you a domain name of your choice.

Not sure when the boost starts, but I'm excited for it! Laughing

Update - I just maxed out the speed test at Speak Easy:

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Download Speed: 10518 kbps (1314.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

It pegged the needle and I think it went faster than that. Need a bigger meter!

OMG! That's great! Wish I coudl get that kind of speed here! Might have to look into it see if anything like that is available around here.

Although kind of impressed with my speed right now at 720.57KB/S from Fileplanet, which is much better than my usual 200KB/s

I agree with the rest... FU! Laughing

I'm actually considering going to wireless. We have a local provider, that will give me 2.5Mbps down, and 1Mbps up. Better than the 1.5/1Mbps I have now for the same price.
