there are a bunch out there on the net , that are copys made in india . i bought one a 4 gig .that died on me yesterday , i called sony for service and found out its a fake micro vault . how did sony know they never made a 4 gig unit !
im hearing that there are other brands being copy to .so be very weary if the price seems low or its not from a store you know !
im out $100 on a unit i tested and seem to work till the second time i needed to move mass amounts of data and it all got loss .

Did you try to format it? There are some problems with the XP format utility for flash drives. HP has a tool that works without overvolting.
