It was doing it in Fable TLC and I thought it had stopped after I changed the resolution settings, now it's doing it in Far Cry too. What could be causing this?
Thanks.
AMD Athlon 64 3500, 6800GT(425/1.12), Windows XP x64.

Driver issues are first thing that come to my mind. Make sure you have the latest driver fro your video card and also check for patches for the games you are playing.

Could be getting too hot too. Either the Video card or the CPU. Make sure both are running cool enough (Check fans, thermal paste, etc..)

A good quality 420W PSU is HIGHLY recommended, And are you properly connected to your power supply cables.

I was gonna vote for Power supply. Seems like most issues these days are with crappy, no name supplies that come with the cases.

PSU- I have a Neopower 480, everything on it seems to be in order. I'm not using the fan only connector though, I have all the fans running off a fan controller which is powered by the same line as the cd/dvd and the floppy, when I get a second gpu it will also power the auxiliary power connector. It seemed like the best way to set it up because I have one connector each for the gpu's (one is waiting to be used), one sata power connector for the drives, and that leaves one for everything else.

I know I'm up to date on the drivers. I could check for patches on some games.

My temps are all right in there too.

I was wondering if it was from OC'ing my gpu. it's a 6800GT running at 425/1.12. It's been fine aside from that and the temps are fine though. It doesn't really go over 60C, that's good right?
Thanks.

Do you have the same problems when the card is not OC'ed? That would definately cause your problem.

Back it off a little to 410 and see if that helps

Using coolbits (www.guru3d.com) to unlock the clock frequency settings in the nvidia control panel set the 2D clock to be the same as the 3D clock speed. set your 2D clock to 420 and your 3D clock to 420 and your problems might go away! (crosses fingers)
